HELP!!!?
My roommate is in debt $12,000 with the IRS and it just keeps stacking up, we barely make it by as is and have no money to pay a tax debt relief company to help, does anyone know of any that are free or dont require any money up front??? No my roommate didnt just say, " I'm not gonna pay my taxes" she doesnt have money to pay it, when you have about $100 left after bills it's kind of hard to pay $12,000 off. our government sucks because if you are middle class you get taxed like a rich person and paid a small step above lower class.When she received her stimulus, it wasn't a stimulus it was a statement saying she owed $10,000

Is debt relief similar to debt cancellation?
No. They are two different things. Debt cancellation where it is written off. Debt relief is where the amount of credit card debt etc that you owe is lessened.

Esgrow, mortgage debt(havent been able to pay in a while), soldiers and sailors civil relief act PLEASE HELP!!?
ok here is my dilemma. i am a soldier in the army and about a year before i joined the army i purchased a house in which i got an esgrow included in my monthly payment. my problem is that i am currently at my duty station and paying rent along with all my other bills and mortgage and i dont have enough money to pay on my mortgage which is why i am now on the soldiers and sailors relief act, and i have not been able to pay on my mortgage for 6 months, however my house has been on the market but is not selling. my question is, at the end of the year when property taxes are due im from illinois will my property taxes be taken care of because i have an esgrow account or is this something that i will have to somehow come out of pocket for, and if i have to come out of pocket, there is a possibility i might not be able to pay it on time or all at once, will the state be able to work something out with me because i am willing to pay my taxes...i am really struck for cash at the moment and having to take care of both house payments my rent at my duty station is about 300 more than my mortgage please only answer if you have a knowledgeable answer because this is a serious question that i want to get resolved and get into contact with the right people asap. thanks
